Wheel Anti-Reversing Technology was initially developed by Bruce Honaker to give beginning skaters a safe advantage while learning the basic skills necessary to inline skate. The novice can keep both skates constantly on the ground, and parallel to each other. This creates a very comfortable and stable method as he/she shuffles forward to gain momentum. As the novice becomes more confident, the "baby strides" come more naturally. Soon, the regular dynamics of skating are developed and the device may be removed or disengaged.

Further advantages are evident as the skater tackles hills or inclines (the wheels only roll forward.) Fear of rolling backwards is eliminated. Momentum doesn't need to be maintained to conquer long, uphill grades.

Denver Colorado's 9 news aired a great feature to demonstrate this innovation, it's a fun clip.
